Why can't I get my act together?

I am continually amazed at myself...I am now well over 30 years of age and no matter how hard I try, I can't make any kind of life routine stick with me. I can't go to bed the same time evry night, I can't take vitamins every day, I can seem to use moisturizer twice a day...these are just dumb examples but I am so driven by impulse in what projects I work on. ARRGGHHH! Frustrating.

I worked on this necklace tonight. It came out OK - I am satisfied with it.

I am antsy for Spring to begin...I feel like I need to travel...maybe a daytrip somewhere south of here?

Ok - I had a super dumb moment...
For the past few weeks I feel as though I've LOST some beads...like I know I bought them but I have been having trouble finding them. Especially some really nice brown stick pearls....I knew they were here somewhere.
When I make a piece of jewelry, it takes me about 30 minutes to select all the materials from my bead drawers which is where everything is stored. But I couldn't find the pearls anywhere.
Tonight I am sitting down to make a new necklace and I realize I might have left some beads on some old trays stored away in the cabinet...
lo and behold...in 4 different trays is the entire bead booty from the last beads show i went to---the pearls, a bunch of focal pieces, a whole lot of teal beads I've been looking for....
DUH!
That's what I get for trying to clean up around here...

Good Day

Today was a pretty good day.
Had a meeting with Tina and 2 cultural city people about the direction of stART and some potential cross marketing.

I stopped on my way there to pick up some take out from Baba...a fancy roll...so yummy! (unfortunately Sammie emailed inviting me to dinner with here there but 3 visits in 5 meals is a little too much!)

In the mail I received my acceptance to the Coolidge Corner Arts Festival on June 9th...very exciting!! Now I really need to move my butt and make some jewery!

Ethan and I did some shopping after school - just a few shirts and yoga pants from Old Navy. Not very exciting.
I finished 4 pincushions tonight...my wrist and shoulder is killing!

Birth Day, Ver. 35

So I am now in a different demographic. I am kind of on the fence if it bothers me or not.

This morning Sarah stopped by and purchased a necklace. For lunch Dan and I went to Baba which tasted even better than usual because I haven't been in a few weeks...I got the sashimi lunch plate and we split a fancy roll. Dan had noodles and veggies. Oh, and for an extra special treat, I had sake. At lunchtime. A big one. Yummmm! The Dan had to go and say out loud that it was my birthday and Mike and Wilson made a dessert for me and sang Happy Birthday, which breaks our relationship rule #1. That's rule NUMBER ONE, the first rule we made as a couple...if we have birthday dinner out, no singing servers carrying a dessert with flaming candles. #2 was no minivan...so I guess we'll have to see if that one gets broken, but it's pretty much downhill from here at any rate.
Anyway the dessert was 2 tempura fried Mochi balls, my favorite - green tea flavored. And they were fried...ugh - heaven.

I then went to Serendipity in Hudson to drop off some pincushions, 2 scarves and some felted beads. That was fun - the owner Lori is super nice and she has inspiring and colorful stuff in her shop for sale. Plus it was a nice 25 min ride out there and I needed some space to think. AND I brought home a check...nice.

At home I learned I had sold a pincushion on Etsy...I'll take what I can get as it is the DRY season of Winter/Spring and I'm lucky I have any income at all!

Some stuff came to a head at home today and I feel a huge relief, if not more anxiety for being an assertively proactive person. I think a lot of my problems stem from me needing everything compartmentalized into nice, tidy packages, and I mean figuratively and emotionally. Pretty much, if you have a problem, bring it to me...I will analyse it, come up with 10 possible solutions and help implementing them. But I most definately need movement of some kind...I hate stagnancy , indifference, apathy...if you come to that point then why bother at all...

I guess I can say I am learning to be more adaptable too, or at least trying in some ways. Compromise. Funny.

I really don't like when people post song lyrics in their blog but I am so intrigued by a simple little song I mentioned recently: Save Me by Aimee Mann, I am goind to do the unthinkable: I will join the ranks of the freaks and type the lyrics:

You look like a perfect fit. A girl in need of a tourniquet. But can you save me. C'mon and save me. If you could save me from the ranks of the freaks who suspect they could never love anyone. I can tell you know what it's like. The long farewell of the hunger strike. But can you save me.
You struck me dumb like radium. Like Peter Pan or Superman you will come to save me.
If you could save me from the ranks of the freaks who suspect they could never love anyone except the freaks who suspect they could never love anyone.

I am really into it right now. I'm sure in a few days it will pass. As everything ususally does.

Tuesdays are for dumb people

Ever have one of those days where you look around and think that all the drivers around you are doing dumb things? You know, when someone almosts hits you, and then 1/2 mile down the road another person almost hits you...

That was my day.

I also went to Erika's photo studio at Worc State and took some pics of the current jewelry I have. She is awesome and I am excited about the pics - I will post them in a few days.

I recently downloaded some songs from my youth and have been playing them incessantly all weekend continuing through today...True Faith and Perfect Kiss from New Order, Under the Milky Way from The Church. I also got a song called Save Me from Aimee Mann which I love. And Wonderwall covered by Ryan Adams. Ahhh....my youth...I am being reflective on the cusp of turning 35.

Here is my pincushion progress: See the big bin with the blanks and the few that are in different stages of completion

Let me simply say that my life around here right now is stressful. This who know me understand what that means.

I worked on lots of stART sruff today - worked on the website long-term plan - pain in the ass!

Dan's Dan treated us to Moe's for dinner tonight - I had a tofu quesadilla - it was yummy! I keep forgetting to take pics of my food adventures in Worcester - sorry Scott!

Pretty scary that it's late and I crave some junkfood; the best I can find in my house is some nuked edamame and a Pepsi. What have I turned into??? Where is the Ben & Jerry's??

it's been a long time

I am making a new pact with myself that I NEED to at least type a few lines about my day, everyday. I mean EVERY day.
I have the worst time trying to keep any kind of schedule or routine...geez. I think I have so much mentally going on I get overwhelmed knowing where to even begin.

So, with that out of the way...
I got the styrofoam balls out today and my outrageous goal for the week is going to be to felt at least the background layer of roving on 42 pincushions. So why am I on the computer????? Because after only 4, my wrist is killing. Ethan did help me with the first step today and that was a huge help! That's my good crafty boy. He did tell me today he wanted to live with me forever; good boy...

I am oddly full of energy and worked on stART stuff for what seems like 4 or 5 hours today - learning how to enter info into the artists' database. It definately saves a step for me.

No cooking today - we went to Qdoba where Dan ordered Ethan and I a Naked Burrito with chicken (I ALWAYS get vegetarian burritos) so the chicken was grooooossssss -yuck.
On the plus side, we went to Cold Stone Creamery (the bribe for Ethan to agree to go out) and I actually ordered my OWN (small) ice cream (cake batter with a brownie). Ethan got a dark chocolate with a brownie - the woman was so impressed when Ethan insisted it be DARK chocolate that she ended up giving me his for free - very nice. I think she is the owner of that franchise and she was super nice...

Otherwise in my life I feel mildly sad with some other garbage going on. Sometimes I want to just go away on a long trip and try to sort it all out - but when will I learn I don't have to have it all figured out?
